Come ormai consuetudine, il terzo sabato di aprile si terrà il Record Store Day, che quest’anno cadrà il 18 aprile 2015: la manifestazione,
giunta alla sua ottava edizione e ormai ampliatasi fino a diventare un appuntamento di culto per gli appassionati di musica in tutto il mondo, riunisce fan e artisti (questi ultimi anche con performance congegnate ad hoc) all’interno dei negozi di dischi. Per l’occasione sono sempre più numerose le ristampe, le edizioni speciali e le nuove release esclusive per celebrare insieme la grande arte della musica e la cultura del negozio di dischi indipendente.
Il ruolo di ambasciatore della manifestazione quest’anno sarà ricoperto da Dave Grohl, batterista dei Nirvana e frontman dei Foo Fighters: “Ho trovato la mia vocazione nel retro di un negozio di dischi scuro e polveroso. Credo che il negozio di dischi abbia ancora il potere di ispirare, che sia ancora vivo e vegeto, che la loro importanza per la nostra prossima generazione di musicisti sia fondamentale.” E per l’occasione, i suoi Foo pubblicheranno “Songs From the Laundry Room”, EP di quattro tacce composto da demo inedite e cover. Tra gli altri nomi di spicco, spuntano gli U2, che pubblicheranno una versione deluxe di “Songs for Innocence”, Bob Dylan con il “Basement Tapes”, Bruce Springsteencon “The Album Collection Vol.1 1973-1984″, ovvero i suoi primi 7 album rimasterizzati e venduti singolarmente, ma anche Paul McCartney, Brian May, e Robert Plant, mentre per Johnny Cash eJimi Hendrix saranno pubblicate delle registrazioni live, del concerto a Praga nel ’78 per il primo e del live all’Atlanta Pop Fest del ’70 per il secondo. Sul fronte italiano, spicca invece il doveroso omaggio aPino Daniele con la ripubblicazione dell’album “Bella ‘mbriana”.
